We are going to ask ACT members to come out in force on that date to show our political leaders that it is time to change the equation, to invest in at risk youth early rather than spend huge amounts of $ later on in the juvenile justice system. ACT worked with Supervisor Dickinson to fashion this proposal.
Sunday, July 27, 3:30 PM: St. John's Lutheran ACTION on Homelessness with Councilman Cohn
LOCATION:
1701 L Street Sacramento City has a Mixed Income Housing Policy (also known as an Inclusionary Housing Policy) that requires developers to set aside a certain percentage of units built for low income and very low income families. This policy only applies to a certain areas of the city. We are asking the city to expand the current policy to all areas of the city and to include extremely low income individuals—those making less than $15,000 a year. We believe that all areas of the city should contribute to the welfare of our neighbors and that we as a community must care for our most vulnerable populations.
